Newsletter
Dear Reader,
In this 2015 issue of Juta’s Law Academic Newsletter we reflect on some of the initiatives Juta Law has embarked upon over the past academic year.
We include an article on the 4th annual Law Deans’ Forum, a look at the University of Johannesburg’s Law Clinic, a report on the University of Pretoria’s Child Moot Court competition as well as a write-up on the awards ceremony of the Ismail Mahomed Law Reform Essay competition.
As a result of the nationwide campus disruptions and the knock-on effect on examination schedules the 2015 Ismail Mahomed competition closing date has been extended to 31 January 2016.
We’ve also included a contribution from the Stellenbosch University Juridical Society and showcase some award winning students from various universities.
Be sure not to miss Shirley Gilmore’s enlightening piece about the role librarians can play to assist academics with their NRF applications as well as our report back on the Southern African Law Teachers Conference where the new Street Law titles were launched.
An account of the launch of our Forensic Investigation title makes for an interesting read.
We would like to thank everyone who contributed to this issue and look forward to our next issue.
Please contact us at lawmarketing@juta.co.za with any questions, comments or ideas.
We wish you all a well-deserved break after a year of considerable challenges and turmoil in the tertiary education arena. Thank you for all the support and feedback.
Regards,
The Juta Law Marketing Team Wayne, Runi, Stef and Paula
