The Intergovernmental Fiscal Relations Act 97 of 1997 promotes co-operation between the national, provincial and local spheres of government on fiscal, budgetary and financial matters; and prescribes a process for the determination of an equitable sharing and allocation of revenue raised nationally. ** The Intergovernmental Relations Framework Act 13 of 2005 establishes a framework for the national, provincial and local governments to promote and facilitate intergovernmental relations; and provides for mechanisms and procedures to facilitate the settlement of intergovernmental disputes.
