In a world that celebrates the winners, the success stories and the socially “acceptable", we often forget to acknowledge the strength and resilience of the silent everyday warriors. So this Women’s day we were inspired to do just that and celebrated Women's Day in a meaningful way. We once again partnered up with the Ark City of Refuge, a non-profit organisation that has been a beacon of hope for thousands of individuals over the years, helping more than 65,000 people find shelter, support, and opportunities for a better future.

A Celebration of Resilience on Women's Day

As we arrived at the Ark City of Refuge, we were greeted with warmth and smiles that radiated resilience. The women living at the shelter came from various backgrounds, each with their unique journey of overcoming adversity. The atmosphere was one of camaraderie and hope as we gathered together to celebrate the strength of these incredible women. Our team had prepared a special lunch and sweet treats for the women. The meal was not just about nourishing their bodies but also symbolised our appreciation for their strength and courage. 

In addition to the lunch, we had carefully chosen a gift for each woman. These gifts were a token of our admiration and a reminder that they are valued members of our community. The smiles that lit up their faces when they received their gifts were priceless, and it reinforced the idea that small acts of kindness can make a significant difference.

Listening to Stories of Hope and Inspiration 

While the lunch and gifts were a special part of our celebration, the most profound moments of the day were the conversations we had with the women. We spent time engaging with them, listening to their stories of hope and inspiration. Each story was a testament to their resilience and determination to create better lives for themselves and their families.

We heard stories of women who had overcome unimaginable challenges, had rebuilt their lives from the ground up, and were aspiring to achieve their dreams despite the odds. Their stories were not just stories of survival; they were stories of triumph and hope

A Reminder of the Power of Community 

Our visit to the Ark City of Refuge on Women's Day was a powerful reminder of the impact that a compassionate community can have on the lives of those in need. It showcased the strength and resilience of women who, despite facing adversity, continue to persevere and inspire.

As we left the shelter that day, we carried with us the stories of these remarkable women, the warmth of their smiles, and the knowledge that small gestures of kindness can ignite hope and create a ripple effect of positivity.
