Just in time for #WorldPressFreedomDay, UCT Press was delighted to announce that Media, Geopolitics and Power: A View from the Global South has been named 2019 Book of the Year by the Global Communication and Social Change Division of the International Communication Association (ICA). The ICA (@icahdq) is an academic association based in Washington DC, focusing on the study, teaching and application of all aspects of human and mediated communication.

The book is written by Herman Wasserman (@hwasser), Professor of Media Studies and Director of the Centre for Film & Media Studies at the University of Cape Town.
