Inspiring change through Education and Literacy

This year the Juta team decided to extend its reach and combine CSI initiatives from various departments to spread the Mandela Day spirit throughout the entire month of July.

The Customer Service team managed to raise close to R5, 000.00 during the month of June which was spent on purchasing food to feed a large group of children at Dietrich Moravian Primary School in Philippi during the chilly winter school holidays.

Juta Funcom members also visited Ukhanyo Primary School in Masiphumelele, to carry out group reading sessions with its learners. They read to a total of 1,700 pupils using the Key Links reading series and afterwards did a handover of 67 of these titles to the school principal.

Our Mandela month efforts culminated with the team making one more stop in Fish Hoek at an NGO called Living Hope. They did a hand over consisting of blankets, clothing and non-perishable food items which were collected by Juta staff during a blanket drive at the Claremont head office.

We would like to thank our Customer Service team, Funcom members and management for their contributions and support toward these wonderful initiatives. We would also like to extend our thanks to Dietrich Moravian Primary School, Ukhanyo Primary School and Living Hope for allowing us to inspire change and make a difference.
