As a proud sponsor of the LexFutures Constitutional Court Fantasy Prediction League, Juta and Company recently played host to the inaugural competition awards ceremony which took place at our corporate offices in Cape Town.
The competition which was started by legal data analytics company LexFutures was run in partnership with UCT Law @Work and Juta. It is the first competition of its kind in South Africa that challenges competitors to apply their minds not only to the Constitution but also to the personalities of the judges in forecasting the way cases would go in 2018.
Speaking at the awards ceremony which was held on Thursday, 7 February 2019, LexFutures Director Brendan Hughes said the idea behind the competition was to promote awareness of not only constitutional law but also judicial analytics which he believes is ‘part law, part psychology, part ideology and even part biology’.
The 2018 league was divided into three categories to include law professionals, students and open participants from across the country with prizes including UCT Law@Work course vouchers as well as Juta Law content vouchers.
