Fundamental Rights in South Africa
A BRIEF INTRODUCTION
The primary purpose of this brief introduction to the law relating to fundamental rights is to provide law students with a gateway to the acquisition of knowledge of this expanding field indispensible to every lawyer. The book endeavours to open windows to every component of the Bill of Rights, referring selectively to essential current authority. It is however not intended to serve the purpose of a standard treatise or commentary on the subject. Nevertheless, attentively digesting this text and its references should provide those who wish to become practitioners or researchers of fundamental rights in South Africa with a sound foundation upon which they can cultivate their proficiency.
Francois Venter has taught law for more than thirty years, was engaged as a technical advisor in the constitution-writing processes of 1993-1996, is rated by the NRF as a researcher enjoying considerable international recognition, and has published extensively on topical legal themes in South Africa and abroad.

by students studying criminal procedure. This
Guide is a useful collection of legislation which
will assist students in their study and exam
preparation as well as in the answering of
assignments. The purpose of this Guide is to
equip students with the theoretical knowledge
and applied skills, aptitudes and competencies necessary to analyse and solve issues and disputes arising from the adjectival process of South African criminal procedure as it applies to adult accused and child offenders.
Criminal Procedure Legislative Guide includes the following:
• Introductory commentary
• Examples of documentation frequently encountered in the criminal
process
• Infographics of the criminal process for an adult accused and child
offender
• Survey of the content of the Criminal Procedure Act, Child Justice Act
and Constitution of the Republic of South Africa

researched and published various chapters, notes and articles in
the field. In addition, their experience as a practicing accountant,
an attorney and an advocate, respectively, enables them to bring
valuable and well-considered practical perspectives to the subject. Bhana

A proper understanding of the law of contract requires far more than the mere rote learning of principles extracted from cases.

Student’s Guide to the Law of Contract can be used by lecturers as a primary teaching tool for undergraduate students to improve their students’ knowledge and understanding of basic contractual principles, develop their ability to reason and stimulate their interest in the subject. Likewise, students will find it useful as an aid additional to lectures and more advanced contract law textbooks.
