We are pleased to introduce Nickey Cilliers, outgoing Chief Executive Officer of Future Managers (a subsidiary of the Juta Group), as the interim CEO of Juta with effect from 1 October 2021. Nickey has an extensive publishing industry background, where alongside Pieter Bruwer, previous CEO of Future Managers, they have led Future Managers to become the leading TVET publisher in South Africa. He has agreed to take on this interim role whilst the Juta Board looks to appoint a permanent successor. Nickey will also remain on the Board of Future Managers as non-executive director to ensure a smooth transition.
This change in CEO is due to the recent resignation of Juta Chief Executive Officer, Kamal Patel who officially ended his tenure with the Juta Group on 30 September 2021. Kamal joined Juta in 2018 and played an instrumental role in its Digital Transformation over the last 3 years.
The KTH Board has expressed their gratitude to Nickey for making himself available to lead Juta for this interim period.
Nickey is committed to steering the Juta ship through the transitional phase it finds itself in and looks forward to being part of the continual growth of South Africa’s oldest publishing house.
